About the book and its materials and binding technique
Incantamenta is Latin for incantation.
The salt dough pages are meant to resemble bone.
The whole idea was to create something looking ancient.
The salt dough pages are held together by a slack stab
binding with leather cord. They are then wrapped in a leather end piece which closes with the help of
leather cords and bone beads.
Written upon them with ink are several ancient latin and greek incantantions.
Finished in December 2008.
